St. Augustine Grass

Being around for over 30 years St.Augustine has made it's mark on the turfgrass industry being known for it's shade tolerance. St. Augustine is most common in residential lawns but can be suitable for some commericial properties. With St. Augustine's dark green color and it's wide blade width it makes for a beautiful lawn for the self proclaimed lawn connoisseur.

St. Augustine

  • Very wide bladed grass
  • Produces roots and turns green when temperatures are consistenly above 65-70 degrees farenheit for several weeks
  • Most commonly known for its shade tolerance
  • Can be tempermental & in some cases high maintenance
  • Best in low traffic areas
  • Medium to dark green color
  • Spreads by stolons which most consider to be wire like
  • Considered to a high end & high demand grass
  • Recommended mowing height 2.5"-4"
